There will be a Prospective RN-BSN Floating Information Session on November 18, 2009. Please come attend anytime from 2:30pm to 4:30pm or 5:30pm to 8:00pm. The RN to BSN option provides educational mobility for registered nurses who are seeking a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. RNs have the opportunity of using their prior education and professional experiences to earn advanced placement status at East Carolina University. The RN to BSN curriculum is designed with the working registered nurse in mind. Each student will be assisted in planning an individual program of study prior to and during enrollment at the university. East Carolina University College of Nursing is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission and approved by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. The RN to BSN option includes the following special features: The RN to BSN curriculum offers versatility and flexibility. The curriculum is offered online. The RN/BSN option offers three, four, or five-semester plans for completion. Practicum and field experiences for all options are completed in the student's hometown area. NURS 3010, Foundations in Nursing Informatics, Application of information technology and literacy related to nursing education and practice. NURS 3025, Health Assessment and Diagnostic Reasoning, Theoretical foundations and skills for performing a holistic plan of care for individuals across the lifespan. NURS 3410, Concepts of Pathophysiology for Nursing, Etiology, mechanism, and clinical presentation of alterations in physiology. NURS 3510, Nursing Research, Introduction to research process and its impact on nursing practice, education, and public policy. NURS 4410, Nursing Management of Complex Health Issues: Individuals and Families, Principles and practices of nursing promoting holistic care of individuals and families across the lifespan. NURS 4420, Nursing Management of Complex Health Issues: Populations and Systems, Principles and practices of nursing promoting holistic care of population health across the lifespan. NURS 4430, Systems, Complex Heath Issues and Nursing, Principles and practices of nursing focusing on systems impacting current and emerging complex health issues. NURS 4440, Nursing Leadership and Service Learning I, Assessing and planning service-learning project relevant to health concerns of aggregates or populations. NURS 4450, Nursing Leadership and Service Learning II, Implementing and evaluating service-learning project relevant to health concerns of aggregates or populations. NURS 4460, Nursing Leadership and Service Learning III, Disseminating service-learning project relevant to health concerns of aggregates or populations.
