HIPAA Training

The College of Nursing requires that you receive HIPAA training annually. Documentation is required prior to participation in clinical experiences. To access this training please complete the following steps:

Accessing HIPAA Training

1. Go to the Health Information Systems Services site
2. Click HIPAA Information
3. Click HIPAA Training - ECU Healthcare Component Workforce Members
4. Click Yes to download the Authorware Web Player by Macromedia
5. Click OK

Completing HIPAA Training

1. Review the HIPAA tutorial by clicking Next.
2. Once you have completed the tutorial click Go to Quiz
3. Place the mouse over the letter you wish to select as your answer and left click. Your answer choice will be indicated with a check for the correct answer and an X for the incorrect answer
4. At the end of the quiz you will need to click Print Summary.
5. Fill out the information blanks and submit a copy of this summary to the College of Nursing Graduate Office, 3166 Health Sciences Building. If you have any questions, please call 252-744-6422.
