Students must file a graduation application with the Registrar's Office in order to be included in the commencement program and to receive a diploma. This application is the university's official record; therefore, students who do not complete the application will not be listed in the ECU commencement program or the College of Nursing convocation program. Don't wait!!
Students may obtain caps, gowns, and hoods from ECU Student Stores. Hood cost is approximately $15.00. You are also responsible for invitations and ordering graduation pins through the Student Stores. Phone: 252-328-6731.
Graduates should plan to arrive at Wright Auditorium at 8:30 am on Friday, May 9th. Graduates will line up with their degree colleagues. BSN and RN-BSN will line up in the Wright Auditorium lobby; graduate students will line up behind the stage at the front of the auditorium. There will be signs to help you locate your group.
Graduates will receive two cards via US Mail prior to graduation. (BSN will receive these from Ms. Krupa in April.)
**Green card:
Whether or not you plan to participate, please complete the postage-paid green card included in this packet and mail to the College of Nursing by April 30th. This card indicates whether or not you will participate in the program.
**Yellow or blue cards (RN to BSN, MSN, Post Masters and PhD*):
If you plan to attend the College of Nursing event, please complete and bring the yellow or blue card with you to Wright Auditorium on May 9th. As you cross the stage, you will hand your card to the speaker to have your name announced. Please write legibly! (*Ms. Krupa will instruct pre-licensure BSN graduates.)
East Carolina University will hold commencement exercises on Saturday, May 10th, at 10 a.m. outdoors in Ficklen Stadium. All students are encouraged to attend this special celebration. Please watch for announcements regarding this event on the university commencement website (http://www.ecu.edu/commencement/).
