BSN Admission

Admission Requirement

Eligibility for the nursing major is dependent upon at least a "C" in each of the specified mathematics, biology, and chemistry courses and a MINIMUM overall grade point average of 2.5. The ranking formula, used to determine admission to the College of Nursing, is composed of points awarded for overall GPA and success in the previously mentioned specified courses. Students applying to enter the Fall 2010 or later must take the NLN-PAX exam as part of their application to the program. Students achieving a total score of at least 110 and at least the 50th percentile in each subtest area will be given preference when evaluating applicants for admission.

Admission is very competitive. After enrollment, nursing students are encouraged to do their best. Graduates consistently rank among the top on the NCLEX-RN.

Approximately one hundred thirty (130) students are admitted to the major each semester. Applications must be filed in the College of Nursing by February 1 for fall admission and by September 1 for spring admission. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

All applicants are evaluated based on the College of Nursing Ranking Formula. Click Here.
