The Bariatric Nursing Consortium

The Bariatric Nursing Consortium is a group of nurses from East Carolina University College of Nursing. 

WINNERS OF THE 2007 MAGNET PRIZE

The Bariatric Nursing Consortium, at work in our Magnet Hospital, is the 2007 winner of the Magnet Prize. Awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and sponsored by Cerner Corporation, the award recognized the consortium as an exemplary model for partnership between a Magnet hospital and a school of nursing. It noted "the commitment of these individuals to advocate for safe, ethical care of morbidly obese patients and the mentorship of the founding members has raised their profile to a national level for excellence in patient care and created a new nursing specialty."
