AAMN

In 2004, The American Assembly for Men in Nursing (AAMN) presented East Carolina University College of Nursing with its award as the "Best School or College of Nursing for Men."  The (AAMN) is a national organization dedicated to providing a framework for nurses to meet, discuss, and influence factors which affect men as nurses.  However, membership is open to any nurse, male or female.  The most important objective of AAMN is the strengthening and humanizing of health care.

The East Carolina University Chapter of AAMN, is dedicated to the belief that the best way to strengthen and humanize health care is to strengthen and empower nursing.  The best way to accomplish this is through diversity.

The ECU chapter of AAMN, meets by-monthly to provide a place for students to meet and discuss issues that affect nursing and men in nursing.  During the past year we have had programs on Burn Care Nursing, Flight Nursing, the Impact of Nursing on World Health, Men's Health Issues, Forensic Nursing, and the Transition from Student to RN. In addition during the past year our chapter's community service contributed $500 to the NC Multiple Sclerosis Fund Walk.

We collect no dues.
We don't want your money.
We want you, your ideas and your participation.
