The Associate Dean for Research & Scholarship provides administrative oversight.  All faculty with an interest in research are encouraged to attend the Research Council which meets before every Graduate Faculty Organization Meeting during the year.  Meeting times are listed on the CON Calendar.  The Administrative Specialist provides administrative support.  Additional information and guidelines for any of the services listed below are available from the Administrative Specialist.  The office is staffed by graduate research assistants, statistician(s), and an editorial consultant.  Specific services that are provided include:

  • Small Grant Fund/Equipment (also see University Internal Grants)
    • Up to $500 for faculty (requests for larger amounts are considered on an individual basis)
    • Up to $300 for doctoral students or other students engaged in research
    • Tape recorders, microphones, poster tubes, easels
    • Search for funding sources (Community of Science)
  • Post Award Support
    • Grant Administration
    • Time & Effort Reporting
    • Budget oversight
  • Proposals for External Funding
    • Brainstorming related to project development including conceptualization, methodology, and funding sources
    • Preparation of proposal, bio-sketches, budget, and other forms and submission through the Office of Sponsored Programs
    • External/internal grant reviews
  • Manuscripts and Presentations
    • Literature searches, Instrument search
    • Author's Guidelines/Assistance with APA and other Formats
    • Assistance with large format posters
    • Editorial Review
    • Assistance with on line submission
    • Data Entry (SPSS), Data Analysis, Statistical Consultation
    • Transcription of focus groups or interviews
    • Other research related activities
