Job Description:
East Carolina University College of Nursing is currently seeking applications for Chair of the Department of Graduate Nursing Science.

The position is advertised as a tenure eligible, full-time, 12-month faculty appointment.

The College of Nursing Chair for Graduate Nursing Science is comprised of face-to-face, on-line, and hybrid programs. Rated 10th in the country by US News and World Report for online graduate education, the College of Nursing has over 500 graduate students and is a front-runner in preparing nurses at the graduate level.

Responsibilities include:
Overall management and implementation of the graduate courses specific to that department and that component of the curriculum. The chairperson is expected to provide leadership to the faculty in the department by facilitating their development in teaching effectiveness, research and creative activities and practice.

Minimum Qualifications:
Consideration will be given to candidates who hold a PhD in Nursing or related field plus a Master's degree in nursing with eligibility for tenure as an assistant professor, associate professor, or professor.

The ideal candidate should have five years or more of teaching experience in a graduate degree program in nursing with a minimum of three years of administrative experience.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate interest, experience, credentials and expertise in the leadership of graduate level nursing departments.

Nurse faculty members shall hold a current unrestricted license as a registered nurse in North Carolina and if employed after July 1, 1992 shall have had a minimum of 2 calendar years prior, full-time employment or the equivalent in clinical nursing practice as a registered nurse.

The ideal candidates will demonstrate experience, credentials and scholarship as an Adult-Gerontology, Family or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner role.

Nursing Faculty Position: MSN Leadership Concentration Director: Program Director

The College of Nursing is seeking applications for an MSN Nursing Leadership (MSN NL) Concentration Director.

The Director reports to the Graduate Nursing Science Department Chair of the College of Nursing.

The Director provides oversight for the MSN NL Concentration and collaborates with faculty and administrators to ensure students, curriculum, and outcomes of the concentration reflect accreditation guidelines and evolving trends in nursing administration education.

Responsibilities include teaching in the MSN and doctoral (PhD and/or DNP) programs, academic advising, developing and evaluating relevant courses, and participating in PhD dissertations/DNP scholarly projects while maintaining an active program of research.

Responsibilities also include working collaboratively with faculty to advance the East Carolina Center for Nursing Leadership (ECCNL) and its mission in the region.

The Director should have a strong foundation in areas that support the responsibilities of leadership for the program (clinical knowledge, academic leadership, administration, and research/scholarship).

Candidates may be considered for 12 month fixed-term, tenure-track, or tenured faculty at the title/rank of Assistant Professor or higher.
