Job Description:
East Carolina University College of Nursing is currently seeking faculty with interest and expertise in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing.
Faculty are responsible for planning, teaching and evaluating all theory and clinical courses. Faculty have responsibilities in teaching, research/scholarly activity, and service to the College, University, and profession.
Teaching responsibilities may include classroom/didactic instruction, participating in clinical laboratory simulations, demonstration and evaluation of students providing direct patient care in a variety of acute and long term care mental health and substance abuse treatment settings.
Preference will be given to applicants with recent clinical and teaching experience in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Tenure track positions require a PhD in nursing from an appropriately accredited institution in nursing.
- Non-tenure requires a Masters degree from an appropriately accredited institution in nursing.
- A valid non-restricted nursing license is required upon employment.
- Teaching experience and national specialty certification is preferred.
- Two years of clinical nursing experience is required.

Job Description:
The College of Nursing at East Carolina University (ECU) seeks applications and nominations for the position of Associate Dean for Graduate Programs. The Associate Dean provides administrative leadership, oversight, and coordination of graduate programs. The primary functions in this position concern management of the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of the graduate programs in the College of Nursing.
The College is housed within the Division of Health Sciences and includes the College of Allied Health Sciences, the Brody School Medicine, the Laupus Health Sciences Library and the School of Dental Medicine. East Carolina University is a Carnegie designated Doctoral Research University with the classification of Community Engagement. The ECU College of Nursing is affiliated with Vidant Medical Center. Vidant Medical Center is the flagship hospital for Vidant Health and serves as the teaching hospital for the health sciences, and as one of the practice partners of the ECU College of Nursing.
The Associate Dean for Graduate Programs oversees all aspects of the College's various master's degree, post-Master certificate and doctoral degree programs. In addition, s/he serves with the other Associate Deans on the Dean's advisory council.
This position reports to the Dean.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Earned research focused doctorate in nursing (or related field plus a master's degree in nursing) and three years experience in baccalaureate or higher degree nursing education preferably in a health sciences center.
- Potential for full graduate faculty appointment with tenure at the rank of Professor or Associate Professor with the possibility of a adjunct appointment in the Brody School of Medicine, the College of Allied Health Sciences or other departments.
- Demonstrated evidence of published research, successful grant acquisition, effective oral and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated evidence of excellence in leadership and administrative skills essential in a complex academic organization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Graduate level teaching experience in nursing.
- Eligibility for unrestricted licensure as a registered nurse in North Carolina.
- Minimum of 2 calendar years prior, full-time employment or the equivalent in clinical nursing practice as a registered nurse, preferably in a health sciences center.

Job Description:
The College of Nursing at East Carolina University (ECU) seeks applications and nominations for the position of Associate Dean for Research and Creative Activity. This individual provides visionary leadership to advance the research mission of the College of Nursing and oversight for ongoing research activities. S/he serves as a liaison among the College of Nursing, University, clinical facilities and extramural funding sources in matters related to research and scholarly activities. Responsibilities also include management of the Office of Research and Creative Activity and the East Carolina Center for Nursing Leadership. This is a line position accountable to the Dean. Start-up funds are available. The title of Richard R. Eakin Distinguished Professor of Nursing and an additional stipend to supplement research activities will be considered based on the current research trajectory and qualifications of the selected candidate.

The Associate Dean for Research and Creative Activity is a member of the ECU Associate Dean Research Council that is advisory to the Vice Chancellor for Research. There is a strong emphasis on community-based research that addresses health disparities and inter-professional research collaborations between the colleges and schools within the Health Sciences Division and with faculty in the Division of Arts and Sciences.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Earned research focused doctorate in nursing (or related field) plus a master's degree in nursing) and three years experience in baccalaureate or higher degree nursing education preferably in a health sciences center.

Job Description:
East Carolina University College of Nursing is currently seeking applications for a full time faculty position in the Doctor of Nursing Practice and Master of Nursing Science Adult Gerontology and Family Nurse Practitioner Concentrations.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience, credentials and scholarship in primary care Adult-Gerontology or Family Nurse Practitioner NP role. Candidates may be considered for 12 month tenured, tenure-track or fixed term appointments commensurate with education and experience.
This concentration is taught in an online, distance education delivery format. The curriculum prepares graduates who are advanced practice nurses in primary or chronic care. Rated 10th in the country by US News and World Report for online graduate education, the College of Nursing has over 500 graduate students and is a front runner in preparing nurses to assume advanced practice roles.
Responsibilities include:
Teaching in the Doctor of Nursing Practice and Adult Gerontology and Family Nurse Practitioner Concentrations, assisting with the clinical evaluation, placement, academic advising, and coordination of online students, development and evaluation of relevant courses, participating DNP scholarly projects and in research and scholarship related to advanced nursing practice.
Minimum Qualifications:

East Carolina University College of Nursing is currently seeking applications for two faculty positions with interest and expertise in Medical Surgical Nursing. Candidates may be considered for 9 or 12 month tenured, tenure-track or fixed term appointments commensurate with education and experience.
Faculty responsibilities include planning, teaching and evaluating theory and clinical courses that may include classroom/didactic instruction, laboratory instruction including simulations, health assessment, and demonstration and evaluation of fundamental and advanced clinical skills. This position may also involve the direct supervision of students in clinical settings requiring direct patient care.
