Job Description:
The College of Nursing at East Carolina University is currently seeking applications for a full-time faculty position in the Master of Nursing Science Adult Nurse Practitioner Concentration. This concentration is taught in an online, distance education delivery format. The curriculum prepares graduates who are advanced practice nurses in primary and/or acute care. Rated 9th in the country by US News and World Report for online graduate education, the College of Nursing has over 400 graduate students and is a front runner in preparing nurses to assume advanced practice roles.
Responsibilities include:
Teaching in the Adult Nurse Practitioner Concentration.
Assisting with the clinical evaluation, placement, and coordination of online students.
Development and evaluation of relevant courses.
Participating in research and scholarship related to advanced nursing practice.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in nursing; doctoral degree in nursing or related field (doctoral degree in nursing preferred).
Approval to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in NC.
National Certification as ANP.
Relevant Nurse Practitioner clinical and teaching experience (online teaching experience preferred).
Tenure track positions require a doctorate from an appropriately accredited institution in nursing. Non-tenure track positions require a master's from an appropriately accredited institution in nursing with or without a doctorate in another discipline. A valid non-restricted North Carolina nursing license is required upon employment. Teaching experience is preferred and 2 years of clinical nursing experience is required.

Job Description:
East Carolina University College of Nursing seeks applications for the position of a nurse scientist. This person will hold the Richard R. Eakin Distinguished Professorship in Nursing.
The successful applicant is expected to:
Establish and sustain an innovative research program.
Obtain external funding to support the research program.
Disseminate research findings in refereed publications and presentation. Lead a multidisciplinary research team and collaborate with other researchers in the Health Sciences Division and the University. Serve on study sections, external review panels, and national committees related to research. Mentor and provide consultation to junior faculty and students, particularly doctoral students, in the area of research. Teach selected courses in areas of expertise. Contribute to the advancement of the research mission of the College of Nursing.
Minimum Qualifications:
The candidate will have an earned doctorate in nursing or related field from an appropriately accredited institution and will demonstrate evidence of a sustained research program with a history of research publications and extramural funding. Funded research is expected to be in an area applicable to the health needs of the citizens of Eastern North Carolina. An emphasis in biobehavioral nursing research is highly desirable. Additionally, the candidate must be eligible for appointment at the rank of professor.
The candidate must be eligible for an unrestricted license as a registered nurse in North Carolina.
