Faculty Advisors
Duties of Officers:
A. President
- The President is the official spokesperson for the organization.
- The President presides over all meetings and is responsible for:
- Preparing the agenda for each meeting
- Opening and closing the meeting
- Calling on people to speak
- Keeping order and keeping the meeting on the topic being discussed
- Acting as a mediator when necessary
- Making the final decision in the case of a tie vote
- The President is responsible for keeping the Adviser informed of all upcoming events.
- The President helps the organization to set goals.
- The President encourages the members to achieve their goals.
- The President recognizes the accomplishments and contributions of members.
- The President is responsible for any organization publications and newsletters
- The President holds regular Executive Board meetings.
B. Vice-President
- The Vice-President takes over in the absence of the President.
- The Vice-President is responsible for creating and updating the organizational calendar.
- The Vice-President serves as the organization representative to SGA.
- The Vice-President presides over all committees and is responsible for:
- Appointing committees needed to carry out functions
- Checking with the committee chairpersons to ensure that they are holding meetings and are making progress toward established goals
- Assisting committee chairpersons when necessary
- The Vice President maintains accurate records and files of all organization business.
- The Vice-President shall perform all other duties as assigned by the President.
C. Secretary
- The Secretary takes accurate and complete minutes of all meetings.
- The Secretary types and distributes minutes to all members through orgsync.
- The Secretary notifies all members of the place and time of meetings through email.
- The Secretary works with the President to determine the agenda and ensure that the agenda is followed during meetings.
- The Secretary is responsible for communicating with volunteers and speakers at events or meetings.
- The Secretary must handle all organization correspondence including letters and thank you notes.
- The Secretary is in charge of the Event Committee and reports updates to the Vice President.
- The Secretary shall perform all other duties as assigned by the President.
D. Pre-Nursing Membership Coordinator
- The Membership Coordinator maintains accurate meeting attendance records.
- The Membership Coordinator is responsible for keeping an active and inactive membership list.
- The Membership Coordinator is responsible for keeping the point system on orgsync updated at all times and keeping proof on file.
- The Membership Coordinator will ensure that all membership data is up-to-date and correct.
- The Membership Coordinator must email members in regards to their status as each semester progresses.
- The Membership Coordinator is in charge of the Recruiting Committee and reports updates to the Vice President.
- The Membership Coordinator shall perform all other duties as assigned by the President.
E. Nursing Membership Coordinator
- The Nursing Membership Coordinator maintains accurate meeting attendance records.
- The Nursing Membership Coordinator is responsible for keeping an active and inactive membership list.
- The Nursing Membership Coordinator is responsible for keeping the point system on orgsync updated at all times and keeping proof on file.
- The Nursing Membership Coordinator will ensure that all membership data is up-to-date and correct.
- The Nursing Membership Coordinator must email members in regards to their status as each semester progresses.
- The Nursing Membership Coordinator is in charge of the Recruiting Committee and reports updates to the Vice President.
- The Nursing Membership Coordinator shall perform all other duties as assigned by the President.
F. Treasurer
- The Treasurer is responsible for regular treasury reports:
- A statement of how much was spent at each program since the last meeting
- A statement of the bills paid and unpaid
- An accurate record of how much money is in the account
- An accurate record of membership dues
- The Treasurer is responsible for keeping an accurate record of income and debts in the ledger.
- The Treasurer is responsible for the checkbook and all deposits and withdrawals.
- The Treasurer is responsible for balancing the checkbook each time a bank statement is received.
- The Treasurer is in charge of the Fundraising Committee and reports all updates to the Vice President
- The Treasurer is responsible for debt collection.
- In conjunction with the Executive Board, the Treasurer develops the organization budget.
- The Treasurer shall perform all other duties as assigned by the President.
G. Historian
- The Historian is responsible for keeping a record of all MSNA events and compiling a scrapbook.
- The Historian is responsible for all creative aspects and needs for MSNA.
- The Historian shall perform all other duties as assigned by the President.
H. Philanthropy/Fundraising Director
- The director will be in charge of the philanthropy and fundraising committees and reports all updates to the Vice President.
- The director shall perform all other duties as assigned by the president.
I. Adviser
- The organization will elect a member of the ECU faculty or staff to serve as an Adviser.
- The Adviser serves as an ex-officio, non-voting member of the Executive Board.
- The Adviser will conduct a monthly review of the organization's finances.
- The Adviser will supervise officer elections, transitions, and training.
- The Adviser will attend meetings on a regular basis.
- The Adviser will assist officers in general operations and procedures.
- The Adviser will supervise initiation of new members.
J. Executive Consultant
- The Executive Consultant is the past president of the organization.
- The Executive Consultant serves as an ex-officio, non-voting member of the Executive Board.
- The Executive Consultant provides experienced advice and information pertaining to the organization
K. Events Committee
- Responsible for planning and coordinating speakers or case studies for each membership meeting and each event MSNA holds
- Especially need new event ideas!
- The secretary is the chairperson for this committee and is responisible for forming a team to take on these responsibilities>
L. Fundraising Committee
- Will create ways to raise money for MSNA or a local cause to increase knowledge of our organization
- The treasurer is the chairperson for this committee
M. Philanthropy Committee
- New ideas needed: MSNA would like to sponsor an organization for its philanthropy contribution
- This is a new part of the organization
N. Recruiting Committee
- Responsible for planning and acting on different ways to recruit members to the organization and advertise MSNA to all ECU students
- The Pre-nursing Membership Coordinator and Nursing Membership coordinator will work together and form a team of MSNA members to recruit freshman through senior students at ECU
P. Executive Board Committee
- Officers of MSNA and the MSNA Adviser
